Alert Slider has been one of the standout features of OnePlus smartphones over the years. But the company disappointingly removed the key from the OnePlus 10R and OnePlus 10T flagships this year, though the OnePlus 10 Pro had it. Reports suggested that the slider will be reserved for the “Pro” flagship model going forward, while it may also feature in some OPPO phones. In line with those rumors, the upcoming OnePlus 11 Pro does have the alert slider. Well, the phone isn’t official yet but we have seen leaked renders from several trusted sources, so there’s little doubt about it. But fresh leaks say it will not be the only model to get the slider. The OnePlus 11R will also reportedly feature the iconic physical key, which signals the company heard calls from its fans. New prototype images of the upcoming affordable flagship from OnePlus show the slider at its usual position next to the camera bump. The frame is a little recessed to house the key. However, before you get excited, let us remind you that the image shows a prototype device. It’s still unclear if the company will include the key in the final version of the OnePlus 11R. We will have to wait for more concrete evidence to emerge before we can say for sure.
The OnePlus 11R may also include an IR blaster
The latest OnePlus 11R leak reveals another interesting bit about the phone. The handset will reportedly feature an IR (infrared) blaster. If true, it will be the first OnePlus smartphone to get this handy tool, which allows you to use the phone as a remote controller for your TV and other gadgets. We have visuals of this tool as well, though we are once again talking about a prototype device. As for the specs of the OnePlus 11R, the handset will reportedly feature a Fluid AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate, Full HD+ resolution, and HDR10+ support. Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 processor will power this phone, paired with an unspecified amount of LPDDR5 RAM. The leaked images show a triple-camera setup at the back, consisting of a 50MP primary shooter, a 13MP ultrawide lens, and a 2MP shooter. OnePlus will equip the phone with a 16MP selfie camera and a 5,000mAh battery. OnePlus yesterday announced an event for Saturday, December 17, in China. The company didn’t tell us what it plans to share during the event. But we may see it unveil the OnePlus 11 Pro in a couple of days, at least the Chinese version of it. The OPPO sub-brand tends to do that, release the latest flagships in its homeland first and bring those to global markets later. The OnePlus 11R may not break cover on the same day, though. We will keep you posted.
